Mason Callenged

Labour challenge Councillor Mason on his comments

Following the SNP by-election campaign meeting, Scottish Labour today challenged the SNP’s Councillor Mason on his motivation in politics.

Councillor Mason has publicly admitted that "I'm in politics for one reason and that is to break up the UK".

Labour’s David Cairns MP said:

”The fact that the SNP have picked a hard-line separatist shows how they are divorced from the real issues in the East End. People want a serious voice to stand up on the issues that really matter, not someone obsessed by constitutional wrangling.

“Councillor Mason’s comments show that he is on the side of political dogma, not the people of the East End. People want action on jobs, crime, the cost of living, and regenerating the city of Glasgow. Councillor Mason is silent on these issues.”
