Margaret’s message to East End: Use your vote to elect a fighter

On the eve of the Glasgow East by-election Labour candidate Margaret Curran will be out on the streets fighting for every vote

Margaret Curran, Labour’s Candidate for Glasgow East today sent out a message to every voter in the East End to use their vote. She told campaign activists and local shoppers that East Enders face a real choice in tomorrows by-election – between herself and a hardline nationalist.

The Labour campaign will today be knocking on 10,000 doors and delivering thousands of personal messages from Margaret to key voters. Speaking at the start of the day’s campaigning, Margaret made a stump speech to campaign activists outside the Forge Shopping Centre, Parkhead. She said:

“The choice in this election could not be clearer: between someone who will use every waking hour to stand up and fight for them or someone who is obsessed with breaking up the UK and will vote with the Tories.

“Again and again local people are telling me they are fed up of with collusion between the SNP, the Tories and some sections of the media to bad mouth this area – we are sick and tired of people talking the East End down. This is their chance to pass their judgment.

“With just 36 hours to go, one thing is clear – every vote will count in this election. The people who turn out and vote tomorrow will decide this, so it is vital every East Ender casts their ballot.

“My message to every voter in the East End is this: use your vote to elect a fighter who will stand up for you.”
